Dork Diaries of a Wimpy Kid Party!

Makeover Scientists

At the Huntington Branch, Monday, May 9th, 5:30 pm.  Children, ages 8-12, can learn the science behind beauty tips while enjoying a food-based facial and making glitter body gel! Attendees should each bring along a hand towel. Please register, 203-926-0111.

Who Is…? Book Club

At the Plumb Memorial Library on Wednesday, May 11th, at 6:00 PM. Exclusively for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders – featuring the popular Who Is…? biography series. Be prepared to discuss the book and engage in a hands-on activity based on the person of the book. Copies of this month’s selection, Who Is Gloria Steinem? are at the Children’s Desk for check-out one month prior to the book club session.

Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes

At the Huntington Branch, May 12, at 4:45pm. Children, ages 8-12, can read Eleanor Coerr’s classic story about a Japanese girl with leukemia who hopes to fold 1,000 paper cranes to test the legend that doing so will make a sick person well. Borrow a copy from the library. Then, attend this book discussion event where we will make our own paper cranes! Please register at 203-926-0111.
