Cooling Centers in the Valley
This is a public service announcement courtesy of the Naugatuck Valley Health District. Please see the list below for free and open cooling centers in the valley:
Ansonia
- Ansonia Library (53 South Cliff Street)
- Kids’ splash pad at Nolan Field (Intersection of Wakelee Avenue and Franklin Street)
Beacon Falls
- Beacon Falls Public Library (10 Maple Avenue)
Derby
- Derby Public Library (313 Elizabeth Street)
- Derby Senior Center (293 Main Street)
- Derby Veterans Community Center (355th Street)
- Derby Neck Library (307 Hawthorne Avenue) *
- Open to any resident with library card, or any person with proof of residency can apply onsite to become a member for free.
Naugatuck

New Summer Hours for PML
Plumb Memorial Library will be open an extra hour on Tuesday and Thursday this summer!
The new hours will be:
9:00am – 5:00pm Monday
9:00am – 8:00pm Tuesday
9:00am – 5:00pm Wednesday
9:00am – 8:00pm Thursday
9:00am – 5:00pm Friday
9:00am – 3:00pm Saturday

The Huntington Branch Library is Open!
The renovations at the Huntington Branch are now complete, and we look forward to welcoming patrons back to see the improved space! Items that belong to HBL are still checked out until June 30th, but can be returned now. Materials can be returned in the book drops or inside.
