Yin and Sound
Yin Yoga is a form of yoga that combines ancient Taoist and Yogic philosophy. Poses will be held for 3-5 minutes paired with deep breathing, allowing the fascia tissue of the joints to get a nice stretch. An extended shavasana will be enjoyed at the end, accompanied by the calming sounds of singing bowls and chimes. This class is designed to be beginner friendly. In a world where we are rushing through our busy days, yin yoga can remind us to sit through silence, and breathe through the discomforts we all face in life. Join instructor Shannon in this deeply healing and rejuvenating class!
Please bring water. Yoga mats, blocks, and blankets are not required to bring, as the library has a set, but bring your own materials if you wish.
Instructor Bio: Shannon has been practicing yoga for over five years. Since working at a yoga studio and wellness center in 2021, she knew she wanted to help others physically, mentally, and spiritually. Shannon is Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga, Sound Healing, and Reiki II certified. She is currently pursuing her Reiki Masters and Restorative Yoga certifications. Her future prospects include opening a wellness practice of her own. In her free time, Shannon enjoys reading, writing, painting, and being in nature as much as possible.
