Celebrate the Newly Renovated Plumb Memorial Library!
The Plumb Memorial Library will be hosting an Open House celebrating the completion of the renovation with a variety of events on Saturday, April 22nd from 10:00am – 3:00pm.
- Friends Annual Meeting at 10:00am.
- The Friends ongoing Book Sale will be taking place in the upstairs Reading Room all day long!
- the Shelton Senior Center Songsters will present “Songs from Broadway Musicals” accompanied by David Scrimenti in the downstairs Meeting Room at 1:00pm.
- The Olde Ripton Garden Club will be showcasing their new “Seed Library” in the Media Room.
- Artist Bruce Zboray will be showing his paintings in the gallery.
- Special events in the Children’s Department and goodie bags will be available all day.
The renovation project has been a five-year event done in four phases that was undertaken by Library Director, Joan Stokes, and the Library Board led by James Geissler and including treasurer Aleta Miner, Jean Cayer, secretary Julie Blakeman, Stephen Bellis and Louis Dagostine.
The City of Shelton has worked in conjunction with the Library Board and staff to make the Plumb Memorial Library ADA compliant and to assist with the renovation.
