Notary Services Now Available at the Huntington Branch Library
Notary services are available by appointment only. To make a Notary appointment, please call the Huntington Branch Library at 203-926-0111 or email pmurphy@biblio.org to set up an appointment.
There is no cost for Notary service.
- For Notary Services to be performed, you must provide two forms of identification; one must be a picture ID, the second must contain your signature. Acceptable forms of ID include:
- A current passport from any country
- A valid driver’s license
- A valid state ID
- A signed library card, credit card, debit card or work ID
- Birth certificates and Social Security cards are not acceptable ID
- Be sure your documents are complete and ready for signature (do not sign the document until you are in the presence of a Notary.)
- If your document requires a witness, you must bring someone you know with you to the appointment. Library staff cannot serve as witnesses.
- Notaries do NOT provide legal advice. If you need legal advice, please consult an attorney.
- Notaries cannot certify copies of vital records such as birth, marriage and death certificates. Note that certified copies of these can be obtained from the issuing authority.
- Notaries can refuse service at their discretion.
